Air Visits call centers provide technology and staff for doctors
and hospitals to better practice telemedicine. We build software and the FDA has
cleared us as a class 2 medical device manufacturer.

We have a handful of doctors and providers in New Jersey dedicated to using and trialing Air Visits’ technology providing telemedicine care to patients mostly in New Jersey, the United States, and the world. Compared to providers, we have 11 times more non-provider staff building software, testing platforms, and trialing cutting edge methods of care. All software and services we provide clients have been proven over years of patient care.

Early on Air Visits discovered a problem with telemedicine patient care. Patients were mobile and would often be in another city or state. When doctors discovered an emergency, they would call 911 for the patients. But, the doctor didn’t reach the patient’s 911 dispatcher, they reached their own. The United States 911 system is separated into dispatch territories, each designed to receive 911 calls from their own geographic area.

But, telemedicine patients could be in a different city or state than their doctors. 911 wasn’t built to allow doctors to activate 911 on behalf of their patients.

Therefore, doctors resorted to searching for ambulances and transferring calls which sometimes worked quickly and sometimes didn’t. Emergencies shouldn’t be left to chance or inconsistency. So, Dr Chiu specializing in Emergency Medicine, Jimmy specializing in hardware infrastructure, Eric specializing in public infrastructure, and Neil specializing in physics, built a solution that would revolutionize the way 911 could be activated.

Today, Air Visits provides Telemedicine911 software across the United States so providers can deliver the level of care patients deserve.

Meet the Team

Alexander Ross Chiu


Dr. Chiu developed the concepts of the new healthcare structure in 2008 and founded Ross Medical. He developed the RMM™ and COTTER® technology, Ross Medical patents, and other intellectual property. He built the FDA cleared CardiacLinx platform, and oversees evidence based medical operation protocol development for Ross Medical Corporation.

Dr. Chiu is the Chairman of the Mobile Health SIG for the American Telemedicine Association, Counselor of the Telehealth Section at the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Founder and Executive Director of the not-for-profit organization The Ross Health Foundation, a group of doctors and logisticians dedicated to the fundraising and implementation efforts for international medical missions.

Previously, he designed robotics at the Stanford Genome Technology Center for high throughput gene deletion and was a synthetic chemist at Celera designing anti-cancer drugs. He received an MD from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY, an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, and a BS in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He completed his Emergency Medicine specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma and cardiac center, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Alexander Fahrenbach

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Fahrenbach joined Ross Medical in 2008 with the original technology concept. Mr. Fahrenbach is responsible for development of iOS and Android apps, GPS systems, video and audio platforms. He also built CardiacLinx, the FDA cleared and audited medical device produced by Ross Medical Technology.

He is responsible for the current technology development and deployment of the COTTER® platform as well as developing all corporate technology infrastructure. Previously, he developed billing systems with Epic Systems electronic medical records including special modules for the Center for Medicare Medicaid Services and New York University Hospital. He received a BS in computer engineering from Brigham Young University and completed an MBA from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in supply chain and logistics.

Eddie Lee

Chief Financial Officer, Board Advisor

Previously, Mr. Lee was the Senior Vice President and Treasurer at Xilinx Inc. and was responsible for worldwide corporate cash management, credit and collections, risk management, business continuity plans, global site services and capital structure strategies.

Mr. Lee worked at Intel Corporation as Assistant Treasurer to the Vice President and Treasurer. Lee also brings experience from Pfizer Inc., where he served as the Managing Director responsible for the Dublin Treasury Services Center in Dublin, Ireland.

David Tu

Board of Directors

As President of DCL from 1988-2016, David Tu directed DCL’s operations and business planning systems, transforming a software duplication and assembly service into the largest independent supply chain management service in the local area. Maintained cutting edge technology to support manufacturing operations for customers in technology and consumer product industries.

Designed and built four manufacturing/fulfillment plants in two states totaling over 460,000 square feet. Initiated and created ISO procedures, earning ISO 9002 certification in 1994 and subsequent ISO 9001:2001 and ISO 14001:2004 recertification. Wrote business plan and launched operations, finance and marketing procedures in 1982. Served as operations consultant before joining the company full time in 1988 and since retiring in 2016.

James Hutchinson

Board of Directors

James “Jim” Hutchinson has decades of senior-level experience within the healthcare industry. He is a detail-oriented, multi-tasker with strong organizational abilities. As a committed team player with a proven ability to meet and exceed set goals and deadlines, he is a strategic thinker and planner, skilled in the design and execution of effective corporate systems, projects and solutions.

Previously, Jim grew a clinical laboratory from conception to acquisition. Now he is focused on consulting on the business of laboratories, hospitals and healthcare organizations. Mr. Hutchinson helps businesses improve financial performance, enhance competitive position, and achieve the most productive organizational alignment among medical staff, management, and trustees to optimize overall performance.

Laura Shapiro MBA

VP of Clinical Affairs

Laura Shapiro joins the Ross Medical team as the Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Air Visits, Inc. Mrs. Shapiro prides herself on simplifying complexity for profitability through oriented intrapreneurial sales, marketing and operations. Laura is an outcomes-oriented professional with proven ability to lead diverse cross functional teams by leveraging relationships and resources to drive value. She has extensive experience in Operations, Consulting, Marketing, and Sales, is well versed in current healthcare industry issues, field sales challenges, and customer buying behaviors, is able to quickly identify key issues in complex situations, and streamline processes to quickly react to changing customer dynamics and proactively develop solutions.

In her time at CarePoint Health, Laura acted as the SVP of Business Development and the Director of the Concierge Program, which she piloted and launched to improve patient retention within care coordination, growing visits for access to care to achieve 1 million visits in three years. Prior to CarePoint Health, Mrs. Shapiro dedicated 27 years to Siemens Healthcare, where she performed duties in marketing, management, strategic programs, consulting, global solutions, and culminating as the VP of CRM and Sales Operations.

Michael Kasper, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Kasper joined the Ross Medical team as an employee and active Chief Medical Officer in 2009. He is responsible for medical operations, development, and clinical research. Dr. Kasper received his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his internal medicine residency at New York University Medical Center.

He continued his training in Cardiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and is currently practicing internal medicine and general cardiology. Dr. Kasper is published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the Journal of Cardiac Failure, the Journal of Invasive Cardiology, the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the European Journal of Heart Failure and has presented at the American Heart Association scientific sessions and the American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Sessions.

Rebecca MacAdams, NP

Manager of Clinical Operations

Rebecca joins Ross Medical as both a provider and Operations Manager. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston University in Health Science in 2007, and subsequently received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from Drexel University in 2008. Rebecca worked in the Emergency Department as an RN before deciding to concurrently go back to school to become an Advance Practice Nurse.

She received her Master’s in Nursing from Georgetown University and became certified as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner through the AANP in 2014. After becoming an NP, and before joining Ross Medical, Rebecca practiced Urgent Care Medicine. She focused on both clinical care and administration during this time. She became Director of Clinical Quality and Informatics for a large Urgent Care system, and after helping to institute a new EMR, she focused heavily on developing new, efficient systems for practicing clinical medicine that aligned with the business aspect of the Urgent Care.
